Potato has become an important crop for both farmers and consumers in Pakistan. It is the fourth most important crop by volume of production — high yielding, highly nutritious and rewarding for growers. Pakistan is self-sufficient in potatoes for household consumption, relies on locally produced seed potatoes for more than 99% of its needs, and ranks among the world’s top twenty potato producing nations.
Pakistan produces good-quality, smooth, natural yellow- and red-skinned potatoes in long and round shapes. Freshly harvested, a potato contains about 80% water and 20% dry matter, of which 60–80% is starch.
IESOL has a complete in-house modern processing line for grading, washing, sorting, drying and polishing. Chiller and cold storage protect quality and shelf life before shipment. We export washed potatoes to Malaysia, Sri Lanka, UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Afghanistan and Russia, where retail chains are our main customers.
